A driver zooms by. You think, “Okay. That makes sense. He’s probably late.” Of course, you’re being a bit sardonic, a bit sarcastic. But when you think about, what does hasty driving like that really do? It presents a plethora of threats, really. I mean, that is why there are laws that actually criminalize this sort of driving, because it is just flat out dangerous; it’s dangerous to the driver and his passengers; it’s dangerous to the innocent bystanders. And it’s definitely not something that will help the driver’s auto insurance premium, if he’s ever penalized for it. I mean, at the very worst, he could actually spend time in jail. It’s a fairly serious thing. The sheer physics involved really need to be paid some respect. Drivers out there are hurling a few-ton SUVs around like they were bobsleds down a winding residential road. That’s just not cool, man.
